From what you’ve heard, red wine is a rich source of resveratrol and that has been the major basis why many scientists conclude that the French, despite their high-caloric diets, manage to escape from any heart disease or problems. But, some say that there is only minimal amount of Resveratrol in red wine. So, for those who are on the lookout for other possible sources of this wonder phytochemical, it would be a relief to know that there are some other choices and they are just as potent with this antioxidant.

The skin of red grapes bears the highest concentration of resveratrol. So, when you make juice out of these red grapes, with the skin included, you have one rich source of Resveratrol. The grape varieties that are naturally high with Resveratrol are the muscadine, pinot noir, and concord grapes. Blueberries also contain different types of antioxidants including Resveratrol. Like grapes, blueberries are great options or snacking if you are conscious about your calorie intake. Concord grapes contain about 60 calories per cup serving while blueberries have about 80 calories per cup. Both of these fruits also contain loads of other vitamins and nutrients that the body needs to function well.

Aside from the two mentioned above, peanuts could be a rich resveratrol source, too. Aside from protein, rejoice in the fact that you are feeding yourself a good amount of resveratrol for good health and for protection against harmful elements that can be life threatening. You’re also getting manganese, copper, and vitamin B3, which should promote your total body health.
